2022 WINTER COMPETITION - THE ARTHUR BOSWELL CUP
The winter competition will be for players aged 34 and over. Players must be registered with HNSW and either NMHA Seniors or Newcastle Masters. A new Newcastle Masters registration form will be required to be completed for this competition.
Playing Dates - $ May to 14 September, inclusive. As we expect to have 8 teams, we will play 18 games, and because of player unavailability on the Rugby League state of origin nights, there will be no games on 8 June and 13 July.
GAME TIMES ARE 7.30 PM AND 8.30 PM – EXCEPTING THOSE NIGHTS WHEN THERE ARE NO JUNIOR GAMES.

We will be playing by the 2022 FIH rules, apart from the rule relating to the timing of matches. Also, the Tomahawk shot is banned, except where the ball travels along the ground.
NORMAL RULES APPLY WHERE A TEAM PLAYS WITHOUT A GOALKEEPER.
Umpires are required to be very hard on (a) criticism of umpiring decisions and (b) use of the body in making tackles and the very poor tackling styles where the hacking of opponent's sticks is all too evident.The association wants to improve the standard of play.

We pay $15 per match. Please contact Peter Sweeney if you are interested in umpiring on a regular basis.
